The "macere" or "macerine", the retaining walls of the ground that constitutes
the cultivable area of ​​the terrace, which in jargon is called "spot"
(the square in Neapolitan). Monument symbol of the tenacity of a people that
adapts and does not give up. They are made with a clever "dry" arrangement
of the stones extracted on site, starting from the largest and heaviest at the bottom
the smaller ones at the top.
